Case Studies

Purpose of Case Studies
Case studies help bridge the gap between comprehension and application of lesson principles by presenting students with realistic situations that simulate real life.

Case studies help instructors assess students' comprehension of lesson principles and assess students' ability to apply lesson principles to simulated situations.

Progressive scenario case studies help learners understand how various lesson principles interrelate. As scenarios progress, learners gain a better understanding of how the appropriate or inappropriate and/or effective or ineffective application of lesson principles may positively or negatively influence the application other lesson principles.

A case study may contain one storyline or multiple storylines with several scenarios within each storyline.
